“What Do I Want To Be?” – Helping Students Discover Their
Passion
With all the talk about how “bad” the economy is, how many
people are losing their jobs and the supposed lack of
opportunities, this new book is a practical shining
light of hope for teens and college students at a time when
even the funding to their education is being
cut.
What Do I Want To Be?
is a thirteen-week guided journal/workbook that helps students
increase their confidence, realize the power of focus,
ask better questions to get better answers, dissolve
self-limiting thought patterns, discover their passion and truly believe they
can achieve anything they set their mind
to!
“
I cannot think of an ambition greater than helping the future
leaders of America find their passion for life and drive that
passion into a goal-focused direction,” commented Author, Leigh
St John.
Rather than tell students what they could or should do,
Inspirational Australian Author and Speaker, Leigh St John uses
the power of strategic questions to elicit answers from within
our students, to discover their own answers and their own
passions. While working through the chapters,
students simultaneously create a journal/workbook they can
reference and use to develop a personal roadmap for life, a
solid foundation to build on, and a personally discovered
passion for life.
Once students can realize their individual and collective
potential, they begin to be more engaged in their school work,
their future, and aspire to positively contribute to their
lives and their communities. Parents will also find inspiration
by being a collaborative partner with their children,
supporting and reinforcing their chosen passion. With a common
defined goal, parents can now clearly fortify their child’s
objectives and proudly enjoy the journey
together.
Quote from a Teacher using the book:
“Recently, some of my students had the privilege of working
through Leigh’s book and experiencing her personal coaching. As
a teacher who truly cares about the well-being of the whole
student, the results were more than gratifying. Some of
the students became engaged in a new way and asked
questions that demonstrated they were actively exploring their
opportunities. Some of the students came out of their shell and
shared personal stories and poems they had written. Every one
of the students was motivated by the experience. The
careers’ guide, “What Do I Want To Be?” is a wonderful resource
and I * LOVE * it!” Cheryl Burns, Masters in Education,
Administration and Supervision (contact details can be
provided).
The book was recently launched in Las Vegas
where, presently, as the fifth largest school district in the
nation, Clark County is among the lowest in the nation for
funding and falling further behind in academics.
Budget reductions since the 2008 school year resulted in an 11%
cut for K-12 education totaling $173.1 million and there is an
additional decrease for 2009 estimated at 14.1% equating to
approximately $263.8 million dollars. (iNVest in education ’09,

“I have this big, hairy audacious goal of getting the book into
the hands of 100,000 kids who really need it,” commented
Author, Leigh St John. “If every person who reads this
article just buys one book for one teenager, we will have
already moved a long way to achieving that goal and positively
impacting so many young lives!”
